Major Disasters
When a major disaster has occurred, EverClean has a special national disaster recovery team that travels across the country to help the victims mitigate the situation and restore structures and materials to pre-loss conditions. Our efforts during major disasters through the years have involved our team intensely working around the clock in very short periods of time to make a big difference in the lives of those who were afflicted.
Being there, in the midst of the major disaster can be very challenging yet rewarding. We experience, real-time, very hands-on experiences in the worst possible conditions. A couple of the major disasters we recently mitigated include:
- Hurricane Sandy, at ground zero in Breezy Pointe, NY, and Rockaways, NY. We mitigated 37 different homes within a month’s time. An added complexity was the extremely high water contamination levels. Plus, we dealt with salt water, which requires a higher level of expertise to mitigate;
- Hurricane Irene, in Albany, NY. We mitigated 18 different homes in a period of two weeks.
In each major disaster, we have stabilized homes, assessed and removed contaminated contents and building materials, and bio-washed, sanitized, and dried structures and contents.
